Top Ten seminar: Human – Environment Encounter
Time: December 14th -16th, 2005
Place: Apaja Auditorium, Department of Architecture, University of Oulu (Aleksanterinkatu 6)
Aims and scope: Top Ten Seminar brings together experts and students in environmental field. The aim of the course is to give the students an insight to multidisciplinary problematics of the interactions and conflicts between human and the environment. Is environment taken into account in urban and rural planning and how human activities and structures affect the nature? What are the social impacts?
The students will also gain experience on preparing and giving presentations.

Contents: active participation in seminar and guest lectures, preparation of an own presentation (either oral or poster) and writing a corresponding paper. The students are expected to give feedback on the presentations of the other students.
Methods: lectures 12 h, preparation of presentation and a paper for the proceedings book.
